Argyll Testing & Home Maintenance assists owners with Short Term Lets (STL) and Landlords to comply with legislation that is applicable to allow them to continue trading in Scotland. allowing properties to be maintained or managed in their absence.

The change of law coming into effect October 2022 meaning that all Short Term Lets will be required to be licenced by their Local Authority.  Local Authorities had until October 2022 to establish a scheme and existing Hosts/owners had until 1st October 2023 to comply.  This is going to be a huge undertaking for the Local Authority Departments and this mass application just before the deadline has caused a huge 24 week backlog in the processing of the license applications.

Existing STL’s who have submitted their application, paid their fee before this date and have been issued a temporary licence number, can continue to trade as per normal. Existing STL’s who have no full licence or temporary licence or application pending determination, must CEASE trading. New applications CANNOT trade until they receive their licence or face a fine.
